Fire-Dex Gives Back
On April 5, 2012 Jeffrey Koledo, Fire-Dex Senior Regional Manager, and Fred Stone, New England Fire Equipment and Apparatus Sales Representative, met with Commander Sharon Cotter and EMT Amy Fosdick of the Foster Ambulance Corps.
Amy reached out to Jeff to discuss any surplus gear or factory errors that Fire-Dex would consider donating to Foster Ambulance. Amy explained Foster’s very active volunteer squad had absolutely no Personal Protective Clothing. Amy further detailed the more aggressive environments Foster is encountering and the concerns of all members coming into contact with caustic substances.
Fire-Dex was able to donate 10 complete sets of NFPA 1951 Urban Search and Rescue gear along with many prototype designs and single pieces to Foster Ambulance. All of the product was new and never worn.
During the delivery of the gear Commander Cotter expressed her deep gratitude on behalf of her entire staff “We are now able to provide up to date technological protection for our dedicated volunteers, all of us at Foster Ambulance are shocked at the generosity of Fire-Dex and their willingness to help out a small agency and respond so quickly to our request”.
Foster Ambulance Corps is based in Foster, RI its 60 members have been proudly serving the community since 1970.
