Firefighters Compete In Fire-Dex FXR Turnouts Made With TECGEN71
Crystal Glidden is a firefighter at Cottage Grove Fire Department in Maplewood, Minnesota and an EMT with Healtheast. She recently competed at the 2018 FDIC Combat Challenge, where she climbed 110 stories in Fire-Dex FXR turnout gear made with TECGEN71. She devotes two hours a day, six days a week to training. At the moment, she is helping to organize the Combat Challenge in Minnesota. It will take place July 13 and 15 at the Mall of America!
Diana Woolf is a firefighter at Highland Hills Fire in Cleveland, Ohio. She has worn Fire-Dex gear for her entire career and has been wearing gear made with TECGEN71 to compete in IRONMAN and triathlon events. Along with her training partner, she created Rescue4PTSD to raise money for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to call attention to the need to help first-responders dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder. She successfully completed a half IRONMAN in April. On June 10, she participated in a full IRONMAN in Boulder, Colorado. She finished the 140.6 distance in 19 hours and 22 minutes. Her next IRONMAN will be the Santa Rosa 70.3 on July 28th.
Edward Lyell is a 29-year veteran of Fire and Emergency Medical Services who has served as a Federal Firefighter/Paramedic of the National Park Service and Department of Defense. Additionally, he is a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Federal Fire Department San Diego at Fire Station 12 Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, California. Edward has been competing in triathlons, marathons, and ultramarathons in fire gear made with TECGEN71 since the fall 2017. He has logged two Guinness Book of World Records while donning FXR gear made with TECGEN71 – a 100 mile run in full firefighter gear with SCBA and the fastest half marathon in full firefighter gear with SCBA.
