Main Hours of Work:

  • Monday through Thursday: 2:30 pm – Midnight
  • Friday: 1:00 pm – 10:00 pm…start your weekend earlier

Fire-Dex is family-owned, global manufacturer of head-to-toe personal protective equipment (PPE) for first responders. We’re currently seeking a qualified Production Supervisor to supervise production employees in a leadership role to meet production and project schedules; plan and assign work; implement policies and operating procedures and be responsible for safety, quality, productivity, morale, and cost of responsible work groups.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports
  • Provides employee coaching and development
  • Apply policies related to job performance, company values and safety
  • Identify key performance indicators and seek continual improvement of them
  • Plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas
  • Ensures effective employee relations, creating a fun, yet highly effective work environment
  • Assist in employee hiring and onboarding
  • Maintain 6S standards

Candidates Should Possess the Following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field is preferred
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • Previous (at least 2 years) successful manufacturing or production leadership experience
  • Active leadership experience in lean initiatives, six-sigma programs and kaizen activities
  • Familiar with ISO standards
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft applications, especially Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to learn new software programs and systems
  • Open and effective communicator and collaborator with all levels of the organization, including verbally and written, including being a team player and having a professional interface with others, getting results through collaboration
  • Managerial skills relating to the ability to lead cross-functional teams and interpersonal skills, including coaching and mentoring
  • Strong sense of urgency, follow-through, and diligence, including meeting deadlines and have the ability to remain organized with and keep track of multiple sources of information and data
  • Ability to follow and lead safety standards and standard work
  • Possesses characteristics of servant leadership
  • Ability to read for understanding, follow and retain multiple work instructions, procedure manuals, software manuals and other business documents
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and strong follow through and diligence with a solution focused mind-set
  • Efficient with multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities, including being productive while handling re-directions and interruptions, based upon business needs
  • Being flexible and accommodating
  • High attention to details
